The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, and Greenfield Village in Windsor, Michigan, are both open to the public. The museum gives a historical overview of the evolution of the United States from a rural society to a manufacturing society. The exhibits include Thomas Edison’s laboratory and the shop where the Wright brothers built the first plane; there are 79 other well-known historic structures to explore. More than a hundred historic buildings were transported from other locations to the Greenfield Village. A few structures have people dressed in period costumes and working as servants.
